10 Year Anniversary Trip to Joshua Tree!

Posted on 2 min read

Hi! Cort here checking into the blog for a first time in a LONG time! Thanks COVID for basically taking away all of my inspiration. 😉

But as you guys may or may not know, Ty & I recently hit 10 YEARS OF MARRIAGE and I can’t even believe I’m typing that. We got married 10 years ago. At 18 years old. And I love the dude more than I ever thought possible. So we knew we had to do something to celebrate and while we would’ve loved for it to have been Italy, we are still in a pandemic and we wanted to be safe. Plus I don’t think that’s even allowed yet? Idk, maybe next year. So we decided on Joshua Tree. We’ve only stayed in JT once before and didn’t really get to explore all that much, and we knew we kind of wanted to drop off the grid for a couple of days. We found an Airbnb and went for it, our pups in tow.

We chose this Airbnb called Casa Elata and I absolutely loved the way it was designed! Link to it here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/24751306?source_impression_id=p3_1623179527_tcID%2BE53ldTxtMdr&guests=1&adults=1

It was SO quiet. To the point that I almost got a little spooked out at night because we’re so accustomed to LA city noise. But it had a hot tub and a big fenced yard for the pups and you could see SO many stars. Also, it had an outdoor shower and I’m adding that to my list of things I need in a future home!

We mainly just chilled the entire time, but we did squeeze in some hiking and hit up the classic Pappy & Harriet’s for dinner one night too! And we grabbed a few bottles of wine from this natural wine store called Wine & Rock shop. 10/10 would recommend!

All in all, it was an amazing trip. Just what we needed and the perfect way to celebrate. We have a lot of big changes coming this year, so it felt really nice to get to connect in the middle of nowhere for a few days. 🙂

Love & Joshua Trees,

Cort
